Different Playing Allowances are applied to different golf formats, so that all players or teams have an equal chance of winning. It has been proven that the World Handicap System favours the higher handicap  players, hence why the 95% playing allowance has been applied to Qualifying Medals and Stablefords Competitions

At the committee meeting on Monday 6th January, the committee voted to remove the Local Rule, introduced on 1st January 2023 (and updated on27th June 2024) requiring all handicaps to be on the scorecard.

However, the committee would ask that to help the Handicap Committee & the player's playing partner, who will be marking the card that players put their Handicap Index, Course Handicap & Playing Handicap on their scorecard. Failure to do so will not incur any penalty.
